Flippy Bird Battles - Say Hello to the Store

The Store is in!

After a solid day of very serious programming, I am proud to announce the in-game store in Flippy Bird Battles. This is update 1.12 for Android, which is uploaded and currently being distributed through Google Play's Servers. When it goes live in a couple hours, thousands of players will have the chance to purchase 2 new Flippy Characters and 2 awesome new environments.

Baby Flippy

The most expensive item in the store, is also the most exciting. You can play as a baby version of Flippy the bird which is much smaller than the original bird. This costs only 20,000 coins and is also available in multiplayer. With this bird your high scores will soar and you will lay waste to your friends in a battle.

Flippy Fish

Now you can play as a Splashy Fish if you prefer. Only slightly smaller than the original bird, this fish hides a surprise. He is capable of brushing with the obstacles and handling it, making him a little easier to play with. What this really means is that he has a smaller hitbox and won't always die when brushing up with obstacles.

In-App Purchases

If you don't want to save up for those guys, you can go ahead and purchase coins right in the game. With 10,000 for 4.99 or 50,000 for 12.99 you can buy out the whole store at an affordable price.

The Environments

With a new underwater environment and snow environment, Flippy Bird Battles has never looked better. These upgrades are cheap and offer a different play experience. Every graphic is changed, including the floor, background, and obstacles.

Where can I get it?

As always, this update is pushed to Google Play already. Press any of the links in this article to go to the download page. This update will be coming soon to iOS.

Flippy Bird Battles and iOS

Flippy Bird Battles  - The Ultimate Flappy Bird Remake

Today, Mozosoft Apps announces the release of version 1.1 of Flippy Bird Battles on Google Play. Now, you can battle your friends in real-time multiplayer up to 4 people at a time. You are racing to collect the most coins, but beware if you die, you suffer a respawn time penalty.

The name has been changed back from Chirpy Bird to Flippy Bird Battles. I really hated Chirpy Bird as a name and am excited for this!

The Store?

Yes, yes, I know. The store has been coming for ages right? Well, I sacrificed it to get the multiplayer out this weekend, but it really is coming soon. I've got two new levels (snow and underwater) ready to go as well as an awesome new bird. There are some extensive code changes involved but they are already well underway. It is literally the next thing out.

iOS?

Yes! Flippy Bird is now available on iOS! Download it today!

The latest updates will be coming to iOS next week. The multiplayer in particular is going to be difficult but I have confidence that it can be done.

Chirpy Bird

I present Chirpy Bird. Chirpy Bird is essentially Flippy Bird rebranded but with achievements, leaderboards, and higher quality just about everything. Many image assets changed, and the sounds are different.

My primary focus with Chirpy Bird's release was to ensure that it would be perceived as a quality game despite the negative attention being received by Flappy Bird Clones and Remakes. Chirpy bird seeks to differentiate itself through different handling dynamics (more difficult) variable sized openings between obstacles, and a currency system.

Unfortunately, due to needing to ramp up the quality of Chirpy Bird before releasing it, I was not able to implement the in-game store. This is coming very soon, with multiple powerups and new birds available for purchase.

Ultimately

I have taken great pains to ensure Chirpy Bird is not removed from the market like Flippy Bird and I will do my best to keep it this way. I apologize to all of Flippy Bird's fans but offer a quality update available here, under Chirpy Bird.

Range Finder Update 15

Pushed out version 2.7 of the Golf Range Finder today.

Updated various things in the code.

Notable Changes:

  • Total Distance will be much more accurate
  • Pressing the Back Button will erase the last placed point
  • GPS position should be more sensitive to movement (Some users were having problems with stuck positions)
Enjoy!

GPS Rangefinder Update

Announcing the next update for the Golf Range/Distance Finder App!

Within the next few days, this app will hit 50,000 total downloads!!

I can't express my gratitude or excitement enough in this blog post, but in honor of this momentous occasion, I will be releasing an update to the app.

I have received much feedback since the last update and will integrate that into this update.

Here is the plan:
  • Do a How To and demo video of the app and put that on the app page.
  • Make it so pressing the Back button erases the last placed point
  • Try to get compass integration for map rotation
    • I have tried this before and will try again, but it is tricky
I am considering adding in score tracking, because it is in most of the other popular apps, but I have not had any requests for it, so it will definitely not be in this update.

GPS Range Finder Info

So I will be pushing out an update for the GPS Range Finder later this week. I have recently realized a few things that could be improved as well as a couple bugs.

Here is what will be changing:
-Ability to change the font size. This may be through the system settings or in the app itself, I haven't decided yet.

-Fix the bug where the app will not always place a marker at your location

-Fix so that markers will persist after you close the app, allowing you to better measure shots

I am looking at adding a rotatable map feature as well. I'm not sure if that will make it into this update.
